Prayerful Reflective Questions

Precious Father, please show me the dim places in my perspective. From whom do I need to learn? What do I need to hear? What do You long for me to see?

How has this long battle taken a toll on my soul? What in me needs Your healing touch?

Father, how do the burdens of my heart reflect the greater burden of Your heart?

Lord, will You give me glimpses of Your divinely powerful story in the coming days? Open my eyes to see what You’re up to in our day!

The Humble Way: It’s profoundly essential—especially in the long battle—to keep yourself in the love of Christ. Of course, Scripture says that nothing can ever separate us from His love, but I’m referring to our own heart condition before the Lord. Scripture also says, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life” (Proverbs 13:12). It’s hard to wait a long time for your breakthrough. Especially when you see the culture imploding all around you. If we’re not careful, seeds of despair will take root. We may find ourselves deeply hurt by God because He hasn’t rescued us yet. We can’t make this journey alone. We need others. And they need us. Read this passage from Jude, vv. 20–21:

But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.

Here’s your assignment: First, spend some extended time with the Lord and ask Him to show you your heart. Do you feel cared for by God? Safe in His love? Noticed by Him? Because you are. So if your feelings toward God contradict what’s true about Him, just be honest about that and let Him lead you to a place of peace and assurance. Second, reach out to two people. Make one a person who needs what you have to offer. Build her up in the most holy faith, and pray in the power of the Holy Spirit. Then reach out to someone who has the kind of faith you need right now and be honest about where you’re at and what you need. Pray together.

Write out your prayer below and ask God to help you identify the two people on His heart for you.
